Wow, I can’t believe that this day is coming up so quickly!
Our builder starts on Friday and actually end the same day too. Can you believe it?
Now perhaps it’s just me or the fact that I am a bit OCD, have four children and really have a hard time focusing. But I don’t start anything and complete it in one day.
So to me I was over the moon excited. They can actually start with nothing, literally, and by the end of the day, have an inhabitable building. Now we won’t have anything but a floor, a roof and four walls but to me that’s enough. At least for now.
We went on Saturday to clear out the brush and grass in the area that our first building will be going up. Also to clear the road in a bit more. It was a somewhat bittersweet as my husband says to me, “You know it’s sort of a shame because some of this brush is literally hundreds of years old.” As he says that I can’t help but feel a bit saddened by that fact. We are disrupting the ground and all the little beings that are dwelling there. BUT I also am filled with excitement that this is going to be where we sleep, eat dinners, make memories and so much more. This will be where our children grow. Where our oldest son will learn how to use a bow and arrow. A place he will grow into a young man and mature. Where the little’s will play on the play structure yet to go up. How special this project will be for my husband and I. And how even though the last 6 years of our marriage has been unbelievable full of our dreams coming true this is a whole new beginning!
An exciting beginning!
A special beginning.
I know we have a lot of work ahead of us. And what we do isn’t going to be perfect for everyone but it will be perfect for us.
Thumbs up for a job well done!
If you look behind me on the ground that big pile of brush is everything we pulled up.
This little girl had a bug bite her so she was out for the count and in the car with baby brother for the last 15 minutes of the trip. She’s so fragile.
This is us parked on our driveway in, looking at what will be the back of our first little house. If you look really hard you can see the outline of where the building will be taped off with pink tape!
And lastly……this is the view from what will be our front porch.
Ah how relaxing…….now let the work begin!
